Imports of agricultural machinery grow 44.4%

The import of machinery for agriculture registers an increase of 44.4% in the accumulated from January to July in comparison with the same period of last year, according to the balance sheet of the Brazilian Association of Machinery and Equipment Industry (Abimaq). “It is the highest growth rate in 2018 among all the sectors covered by Abimaq,” says the entity’s chief executive, José Velloso Dias Cardoso.

According to the official, this scenario is an investment thermometer in the sector focused on aggregating value to production. “The machines, for example, count more and more with embedded technology, and the Brazilian producer comes year after year seeking and obtaining greater productivity.”
