Production sector claims delay of IN on milk production

The Sindilat dairy industry union (Sindilat) urgently requests a hearing with the Ministry of Agriculture (MAPA) to discuss the impacts of the proposed changes in the Normative Instruction (IN) 62. The intention is to discuss some points that change the standards of dairy production in Brazil and that have a direct impact on the day-to-day of the countryside and industries.

According to Sindilat’s executive secretary, Darlan Palharini, the idea is that the text, originally intended to come into force six months after publication, will only come into force within two years. Until then, explains the executive, producers and industries would have time to adapt their processes and meet all the requirements listed. As it was presented, it will exclude thousands of producers from the production chain, especially small ones. “In a short period of time, it is impossible to adapt to the new demands,” he commented, during a rally held at the Association of Small Dairy Industries of Rio Grande do Sul (Apil), last Friday (31), during the Expointer, in Esteio.

The manifestation of the Sindilat integrates a position shared by the members of the Milky Alliance. “We are concerned that there has been little dialogue with the Ministry,” said Palharini, adding that the industry is scared that it could predict the final text of the new regulation. At the meeting, which was attended by several producers and members of inspection bodies and researchers, the president of Apil, Wlademir Pedro Dall’Bosco, expressed concern about the possible requirements, which are expected to undermine the work of many producers.

The new regulations were placed in public consultation through Portarias 38 and 39, a process already completed. At the moment, it is in legal analysis. Among other changes, it foresees new limits for the Bacteria Count (CBT) on the platform. Bernardo Todeschini, the regional superintendent of the MPLS / RS, explained that the intention of the federal government is to publish the new rules later this year. Thus, it would take a period of six months for implementation and another five months for results, providing for exclusion in case of non-attendance. According to him, the improvement in product quality is for domestic consumption, but also looking at the international market requirements.

According to the researcher Embrapa Maira Babinotti Zanela, in order to ensure compliance with some measures, it is necessary to take into account the reality of the field, citing the challenge of milk cooling in some properties that do not have adequate equipment and nor stable supply of electric energy .
