Revenues from forestry and Brazilian vegetable extraction reached R $ 19.1 billion in 2017, a 3.4% increase on the result obtained in 2016, according to the Plant Extraction and Silviculture Production Survey (Pevs) released today (20), by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).
Of the total amount, silviculture activity (obtained in planted forests) contributed 77.3% (R $ 14.8 billion), a high of 5.0% over 2016. Already the vegetal extraction (collection of products in forests and forests native) had a share of 22.7% (R $ 4.3 billion), suffering a decrease (the second consecutive) of 1.9% in comparison with the previous year.
