PL proposes to reduce bureaucratic circulation of products of animal origin

The norms of sanitary inspection of products of animal origin can be altered by the Draft Law 10068/18 of the deputy Hiran Gonçalves (PP-RR), informs the “Agencia Câmara News”. According to the proposed text, the national circulation of these products is allowed, provided that their establishments – wholesalers and retailers – are regularized by a inspection service of a municipal, state or federal agency.

Animals for slaughter, their products and by-products and raw materials are objects of sanitary inspection; fish and fish products; milk and milk products; the egg and its derivatives; honey and wax from bees and their derivatives.

According to Hiran Gonçalves, the amendment of the legislation (Decree-Law 986/69) will allow, from the point of view of sanitary surveillance, the national circulation of these products, provided they have the “seal” of any inspection service of an organ of agriculture , whether it be municipal, state or federal. Currently, an artisanal cheese miner, for example, can not be marketed in another state of the federation.

“The practical consequence is that the action of sanitary surveillance will be based on the control of the risk intrinsic to the products, avoiding the current seizures and the disuse of foods that are suitable for human consumption when the product is in a municipality or state different from the one in which was regularized by the organs of agriculture, “said the parliamentarian.

Processing

The project, which is being processed conclusively, will be analyzed by the Commissions on Agriculture, Livestock, Supply and Rural Development; and of Constitution and Justice and Citizenship.
