Agribusiness exports fall 13% in SP

From January to November of this year, agribusiness exports fell 13% in revenues, reaching US $ 15.18 billion. Imports in turn were larger, totaling US $ 4.55 billion, up 1.6%. In view of the result, the balance of trade in the sector was US $ 10.63 billion, an amount 18% lower than that presented in 2017, according to Institute of Agricultural Economics (IEA).

“Even in decline, the agribusiness surplus continues to be fundamental to balance the state’s accounts,” said the IEA researchers, Alberto Angelo, Carlos Nabil Ghobril and Marli Dias Mascarenhas Oliveira.

In the accumulated of the year until November, the main products exported by agribusiness in the state were: sucroalcooleiro complex (US $ 4.71 billion), meats (US $ 1.97 billion), juices (US $ 1.73 billion), soybean complex (US $ 1.71 billion ) and forest products (US $ 1.70 billion). These five aggregates accounted for 77.9% of the state’s sectoral exports.
