The prices of 17 products extracted from the biodiversity of the 2019 crop have been readjusted and were published in the Official Gazette this Thursday (10). Among the products are açai, andiroba, babassu, baru, natural rubber, buriti, cacao, carnauba, wax, Brazil nut, juçara, macaúba, mangaba, murumuru, pequi, piaçava, pinhão and umbu.
The federal government grants an economic subsidy to extractive family farmers, who carry out their activities in an environmentally sustainable manner. The subsidy value is calculated by the difference between the minimum price and the selling price of extractive products on the market.
From now on, for example, the minimum price of natural rubber (Cernambi) for the North region, except for Tocantins, and for certain municipalities in the north of Mato Grosso, will come into effect at R $ 5.58 / kg, with high of 2.95%. The cocoa nut increased by 4.56% for the states of Amazonas and Amapá, and is now worth R $ 7.57 / kg. The price of açaí fruit is at R $ 1.63 / kg, in the North and Northeast of the country, increase of 1.87%.
Some products had decreases in values, such as wax, macaúba, murumuru, pequi and piaçava, due to the reduction in costs calculated by Companhia Nacional de Abastecimento (Conab). Others, such as babassu and Brazil nuts, had their minimum price kept.
The ordinance establishes the new values set by the National Monetary Council in favor of the rural producers, in a meeting held on December 19 of last year.
