Portaria favors exports of pesticides

An ordinance of Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex), published last week in the Official Gazette of the Union can benefit the sector of agricultural pesticides. With the publication of concierge # 08/2018, companies in the field of pesticides, defense materials and chemicals could benefit from the drawback exemption scheme.

The drawback in exemption mode allows Brazilian exporters to restore, with exemption from federal taxes, the stock of inputs equivalent to items previously imported or locally purchased with the payment of taxes levied and used in the manufacture of products already exported.

According to a survey done by Secex, the new will allow the replacement of raw materials by exporting companies, involving exemption from federal taxes that must total at least US $ 1.5 million per year. The measure reduces the costs in the manufacture of the products and, consequently, favors the national external sales. By 2017, the defense materials, agricultural and chemical defense sectors accounted for total exports of about $ 8 billion.
