Safra 2017/18 in RS should be the second largest in history, says Emater

The 2017/18 summer grain harvest in Rio Grande do Sul is expected to reach 30.2 million tons, which will cause an economic impact in the gross value of more than R $ 27 billion, estimated Emater / RS-Ascar on Tuesday, (06), during Expodireto Cotrijal, in the city of No-me-toque. 

According to the agency, if the forecast is confirmed, this will be the second largest summer harvest in RS. In relation to the main crops, soybean production is expected to reach 17.1 million tons, an increase of 2.19% over the previous cycle. 

The corn crop is estimated at 4.6 million tons, and corn silage at 14.2 million tons. In turn, the production of rice is expected to reach 8.4 million tons, and that of bean 1st. harvest 68.3 thousand tons.
