Soybeans: Argentina: Safra 2017/18 is expected to fall 27%

The Buenos Aires Cereal Exchange has once again reduced its estimates for Argentina’s 2017/18 soybean and corn crops. The main reason is the drought which continues to punish most of the country’s agricultural regions.

According to the Exchange, soybean production is expected to reach 42 million tonnes, a 27% decrease compared to the previous season’s result.

In turn, the corn harvest is expected to reach 34 million tonnes, down 13% compared to the 2016/17 cycle.
