A study by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) indicates that Brazil has 4.5 million hectares of area suitable for irrigation until 2024.
Named “Sustainable Irrigated Agriculture in Brazil: Identification of Priority Areas,” the report was presented on Tuesday (20) at the World Water Forum, which takes place in Brasília (DF).
According to the National Water Agency (ANA), the irrigated area in the country reached 6.95 million hectares in 2015.
