US soybean exports to China may fall 33%

A study by Purdue University, commissioned by the US Export Council of Soy, points out that Chinese imports of US soybeans could fall significantly if Beijing imposes tariffs on the US grain in retaliation for protectionist measures adopted by the Donald Trump administration.

EUA devem reduzir exportações de soja para China

According to the report, if the tariff imposed by China is 10%, exports of US soybean to the Asian country would fall by 33%, and US oilseed production would decline by 8%.

In another scenario, where tariffs imposed would be 30%, Chinese imports of US soybeans would fall by 71% and US production would be reduced by 17%.
