Brazilian exports registered growth above the world average in 2017. The World Trade Organization (WTO), through the report “Trade and Statistics Outlook”. According to the report, released by Agência Brasil, Brazilian sales abroad were the 6th most expressive among the 30 largest exporters in the world, surpassing countries like the United States, China and Germany.

In terms of values, the growth of Brazilian exports was 17.5% in 2017, above the world average, after five years of decline. Among the items that contributed to this result, the WTO highlights the record agricultural harvest in the last year. The scenario also favored the growth of oil production and the favorable performance of exports of manufactured goods.
The result also reflected in the expansion of Brazilian participation in world sales, from 1.16% in 2016 to 1.23% of the total in 2017.
