Official rural credit will increasingly be directed to family farming

The official rural credit will increasingly be directed to family agriculture, said Professor Decio Zylbersztajn, founder and chairman of the board of Pensa / USP (Centro de Knowledge in Agribusiness of the Department of Administration of the Faculty of Economics, Administration and Accounting of the University of São Paulo). “That’s a worldwide trend.”

According to him, if in the past the node of Brazilian agribusiness was financing, from time to time the sector, especially business agriculture has taken steps forward, referring to other sources of credit related to the market.

According to Zylbersztajn, the segment has new sources of resources. “They are not, say, better or more viable than [sources] from other sectors, but the agricultural credit scenario is not worse off than other sectors of the economy.”
