Fertilizer deliveries in the Brazilian market reached 1.774 million tons in March, a slight increase of 0.5% in the annual comparison, according to data from the National Association for Fertilizer Diffusion (Anda). However, in the first quarter, deliveries reached 6,337 million tons, down 1.3% compared to the same period in 2017.
With regard to the national production of fertilizers, the volume in March reached 563,01 thousand tons, a decrease of 16%, 1% in the annual comparison. Compared to the first quarter, production reached 1.860 million tons, down 4% from the same period in 2017.
In March, imports of fertilizers reached 1.297 million tons, a decrease of 3.8% in the annual comparison. In the first three months of the year, imports totaled 4,739 million tons, down 14.1% over the same period in 2017.
