The Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock of Brazil (CNA) has filed in the Federal Supreme Court (STF) a request to be part of the judgment of an action that questions tax benefits on interstate marketing of agricultural pesticides.
According to the CNA action that questions the benefits to producers was moved by the Party Socialism and Freedom (PSOL).
The National Council of Finance Policy (Confaz) reduces by 60% the calculation basis of the Tax on the Circulation of Goods and Services (ICMS) to exit from one state to another of agricultural inputs, such as pesticides, fertilizers and seeds, which makes more feasible the cost of the farmer in the acquisition of these products .
The PSOL alleges environmental impacts and damages to human health when it came to the action two years ago, an argument demystified by the CNA, which argues that the registration and marketing of pesticides in Brazil are strictly supervised by government agencies.
Today, the application for registration of a defensive is analyzed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MPLS), Brazilian Institute of Environment and Natural Renewable Resources (Ibama) and National Agency of Sanitary Surveillance (Anvisa).
