Ethanol exports in the US hit a record 835,949 m3 in February, well above 339,954 m3 in January and 527,974 m3 in February 2017. Brazil was the main destination for US ethanol in February, with 390,646 m³ or 46.7 m³ % of the total, followed by China, with 125,182 m³ or 15.0% of the total. The expectation, however, is that ethanol shipments will retreat in coming months due to the contraction of prices in Brazil and the increase in the import tariff in China from 30% to 45%.
