Soybean harvest enters the final stretch in RS

The soybean harvest in Rio Grande do Sul is coming to an end. At this moment only 6% of the area planted to be harvested, according to Emater-RS. “The crops sown in the period recommended by the agroclimatic zoning are already practically harvested, leaving those where the planting was carried out after the corn was harvested,” said Emater’s technical director Lino Moura.

“In the Northwest Region, with the conclusion of the harvest and in the evaluation of many farmers, the cultivars of early cycle presented better productivity than the later ones. Another factor commented by the producers is that in the cultivars of more early cycle was realized, in average , an application less than fungicide, which is important to reduce the cost of production and reduce negative impacts to the environment, “says Moura. The average productivity obtained in the State, according to the latest Emater / RS-Ascar field estimate is 2,992 kg / ha.

The week closed positive for prices, with a rise of $ 0.17 / b on the Chicago Commodities Exchange (CBOT), representing 1.65% more than last week. The export premiums at the stations remained stable, with a high of R $ 3.00 / sc.

“As for commercialization, many farmers are billing the entire production, while others, what is necessary for payments of contracts with financial institutions and others, still have doubts about the best time to sell, believing in an improvement to offer and negotiate their production” , ends Lino Moura.
