During a meeting to discuss the proposals of the Agricultural and Livestock Plan (PAP) 2018/2019 and the budget of the Defense Fund of the Coffee Economy (Funcafé), the Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock of Brazil (CNA) spoke about the values and said that it would request the government to anticipate the values.
“We are working so that part of the fund’s resource is anticipated and made available as of this month, precisely so that the producer starts the harvest capitalized and using the disposition,” said, in a note, the chair of the CNAA’s Coffee Commission, Breno Pereira de Mesquita.
Still according to him, the volume of funds in Funcafé will be 4.96 billion for the financing lines and will be available from July 1 to June 30 of the following year.
During the meeting, the proposals of the CNA for the new Agricultural and Livestock Plan were reinforced, which were already delivered to the Minister of Agriculture, Blairo Maggi. One of the demands is the withdrawal of compulsory project preparation and technical assistance fees.
According to technical advisor to the National Commission for Agricultural Policy of the CNA, Fernanda Schwantes, this year the entity sought to work with the reduction of costs intrinsic to the contracting of rural credit.
“One proposal is to no longer need to present a costing project or some investment lines that cost around 2% of the project value. We believe that this cost is quite high in an interest rate scenario of 5 to 6%. “
