Cargo traffic in the Port of Paranaguá reached 4.8 million tons in April, a growth of 14% compared to the same period of last year. The result was driven by the export of grains, with 2.1 million tons of soybean and 555 thousand tons of bran, 38% more volume than last April.

According to the Administration of Ports of Paranaguá and Antonina (Appa), The performance in fertilizer imports also helped the result, with 649 thousand imported tons and a 14% increase in the month.
In the accumulated in the year, counting all the movement from January to April, the increase is 10.3%. In the first four months of 2018, there were 17.54 million tons of cargo, 11.17 million in exports and 6.37 million tons in imports of products.
“With commodity prices on the rise and the favorable exchange rate for the producer, this entire crop will need to leave the field with agility to the sea,” says the Secretary of Infrastructure and Logistics, Abelardo Lupion.
