The National Supply Company (Conab) opened on Monday (28) a public call for the contracting of freight, according to the parameters established in Provisional Measure No. 831 of the federal government. The instrument foresees the removal of 26 thousand tons of corn from public stocks located in Sorriso / MT to the city of Palmeira do Piauí / PI.
All operation of this new instrument was carried out by Conab immediately after the disclosure of the terms of the provisional measure. The qualification for the public call will be open from June 7, with delivery of proposals on the 8th and result on June 12.
The call will meet the same requirements established in Conab’s contract for freight contracting, which defines conditions such as the regularity of the participants and lists the main obligations and penalties, as well as the 5% guarantee on the value of the negotiated lot. All these actions are aimed at safeguarding the transported product and avoiding problems such as the loss of products and the shortage of Conab programs to support the small producer. Those who may participate in the public freight call, according to the Provisional Measure, are the cooperatives of freight forwarders, trade unions of this category and associations of freelancers.
