Agribusiness presents sector demands for the 2019 budget

The president of the Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock of Brazil (CNA), João Martins, presented last Tuesday (20) the priority demands for the sector to the parliamentarians responsible for the opinions to the Draft Budget Law 2019.

At the meeting, at the headquarters of the Confederation, João Martins said that it is fundamental to increase the volume of resources for rural insurance, since it will enable the producer to access credit in better conditions and avoid higher expenses for the Union with equalization of the interest rate due to stretching of debt.

The ANC presented to the parliamentarians the following demands:

– Accomplish the amendment already approved in the Committee of Agriculture of the House that supplements in R $ 150 million the estimated value of R $ 450 million for the Program of Subsidy to the Rural Insurance Premium (PSR);

– Supplementing in R $ 100 million the resources destined to the Unified System of Attention to Animal Health (SUASA);

– To maintain the volume of funds of R $ 12.5 million for the regularization of the land structure in the area covered by the Legal Amazon (Law 11,952 / 2009);

– Provide budget for priority works in transport infrastructure in the agricultural sector, such as paving, duplication of highways, construction of third lanes and other measures that improve traffic flow in the following sections: BR 020 (BA, PI and CE), BR (Brazil), BR 158 (MT), BR 158 (MT), BR 080 (MT and GO), BR 158 (PA), BR 155 (PA), São José do Rio Preto Urban Traverse.

Parliamentarians pledged to review the proposals put forward by the CNA and meet with the government transition team later this week.
