Agribusiness is one of the sectors most impacted by logistic cost

Brazilian companies have spent, on average, 12.37% of their gross revenues with logistics costs in the last three years. This is what the study “Logistic Costs in Brazil”, drawn up by Fundação Dom Cabral (FDC), points out.

According to the survey, from 2015 onwards, corporations had to spend R $ 15.5 billion more on logistics infrastructure expenses. According to the survey, agribusiness is one of the sectors in which the logistical impact weighs more heavily on activity alongside mining and construction.

The study highlights that the high value paid by Brazilian companies is related to the lack of investments in logistics infrastructure. The report notes that while Brazil invests 0.8% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in logistics, China and India invest 2.5%.

The document also points out that the dependence of the road transportation system, which accounts for 75.9% of transportation services in the country, is another significant logistics bottleneck in the country.
