Commodity prices ended August with a 0.83% increase compared to July, according to the Brazilian Commodities Index (IC-Br), calculated by the Central Bank (BC) and released by Agência Brasil.
All the segments analyzed by the IC-Br registered high. However, agricultural commodities (beef, cotton, soybean oil, wheat, sugar, corn, coffee, rice, pork, cocoa and orange juice) registered the lowest increase with a high of 0, 61% in August.
The highest growth was recorded in the energy segment (oil, natural gas and coal), with a high of 2.51%.
In 12 months ended in August, the index grew 28.82% and, in the accumulated of the year, a 17.11% increase.
