Agricultural storage capacity grows 1.2% in the 1st. half

The total useful capacity available in Brazil for agricultural storage in the first semester of 2018, in establishments active in the research of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), was 169 million tons, a result 1.2% higher than the second semester of 2017 (167 million tonnes). Agricultural inventories totaled 58.3 million tonnes, down from 58.7 million tonnes in the first half of 2017. In the first half of 2017, soybean and rice inventories increased by 6% and 0.5%, respectively, while corn declined 17.7%.
