Agropecuária: Prices received by producers rose 2.14% in SP

The price of agricultural products increased by 2.14% in April compared to March, according to the Producers Price Index (IqPR), according to the Institute of Agricultural Economics (IEA). According to the survey, the products that presented the highest increases in the period were wheat (25.69%), orange for industry (16.08%), beans (11.03%), soy (10.63%), and peanut (6.49%).

On the other hand, items such as banana nanica (-16.74%), chicken meat (-7.14%), eggs (-5.42%), pork (-5.35%) and potato (-5 , 32%) fell in prices.

In relation to the last 12 months, the IqPR showed the highest increase in the last month analyzed, leveraged by sugarcane, the most important product in the index, which increased by 4.24%. The biggest fall, of 3.65%, occurred in June / 2017 due to the reduction in the prices of oranges – for industry and for table -, potatoes and table tomatoes.

For products of animal origin, the largest increase (of 2.67%) occurred in August 2017 (when beef rose 6.37%) and the largest fall (3.24%) occurred in the month of Danton Leonel de Camargo Bini and Eder Pinatti, IEA researchers, pointed out that, in the analyzed period, all indexes presented a negative variation: the IqPR (general) was -5.46%, the IqPR-V (vegetable) with -5.93% and the IqPR-A (animal) with -4.91%.
