The National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) starts today (11) Public Consultation that deals with the proposed resolution to regulate the process of issuing the certificate of efficient production of biofuels and the requirements for accreditation of inspector firms, in the scope of the RenovaBio program.
According to the ANP, the draft resolution will be in public consultation for 15 (fifteen) days, until 25/5. The public hearing will take place on June 5, 2018 at 9:30 am in Rio de Janeiro.

RenovaBio is a Federal Government program to expand biofuel production in Brazil, based on predictability, environmental, economic and social sustainability, and compatible with market growth. The objectives of the initiative are:
- Contribute with predictability to the competitive participation of the various biofuels in the national fuel market.
- To promote the adequate expansion of the production and use of biofuels in the national energy matrix, with emphasis on the regular supply of fuels;
- To contribute to an adequate energy efficiency and greenhouse gas emission reduction ratio in the production, marketing and use of biofuels;
- Contributing to the fulfillment of Brazil’s commitments under the Paris Agreement under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change;
- Among its targets, the expectation is that in 2028, a reduction of more than 10% of the carbon intensity will occur compared to that of 2017.
