“It was an old CNA demand. We needed an updated study showing the water potential of Brazil. This information will contribute to the Brazilian agricultural sector developing even more, “says Nelson Ananias Filho, CNA Sustainability Coordinator.

The book “Sustainable Irrigated Agriculture in Brazil: Identification of Priority Areas” will be launched in the space of the CNA / SENAR / ICNA System at the 8th World Water Forum next 20, in Brasilia.

“The study identifies the potential that Brazil has in the amount of hectares that are available to be used now. They are surfaces that can be used because they are not overlapped with indigenous territories, conservation areas, water in abundance and infrastructure, “explains FAO representative in Brazil, Alan Bojanic.

The publication will provide information based on technical, environmental, infrastructure and water availability criteria for public and private entities, researchers, students and society in general. After the launch, the study will be available on the entity portal.
