Brazilian corn harvest is expected to fall 12%

THE Brazilian corn crop 2017/18 should register a strong contraction, reaching 88,130 million tons, against the 99,985 million tons of the previous season, a fall of 12%, according to data from DATAGRO.

Productivity should retreat from 5,629 kg / ha [2016/17] to 5,267 kg / ha [2017/18]. The planted area is expected to fall from 17,763 million hectares to 16,731 million ha.
