Certifications that ensure the authenticity of organic production are a challenge in Brazilian agribusiness, said Agriculture Minister Roberto Rodrigues during Agrishow, an agricultural technology fair that takes place until this Friday (04) in Ribeirão Preto (SP). ).

According to Rodrigues, the market for organic products should grow, but it is an illusion to believe that all agriculture can abdicate pest and disease control through agrochemicals, among other solutions. “In fact, organic production also needs a lot of technology,” he said. “And the organic is also not risk free, considering cases of people who have been contaminated by consuming organic products.”
According to the former minister, in this debate it is necessary to “put truth and science in things”. The integration-crop-livestock-forest, he added, “is a kind of semi-organic system.”
