Rio Grande do Sul is close to finishing the harvest of the summer grains of the 2017/18 harvest. According to information from Emater-RS, the percentage of corn and soybeans harvested in the State reached 96%. In relation to rice, the index reaches 95%.

According to Emater, with the harvest of maize in finalization, attention is focused especially on the commercialization, which reaches more than two thirds of the harvested production. Prices are based on slight increases, based on the climatic difficulties that the safrinha is facing, small stocks and import almost prohibitive because of the high prices of the dollar. Stockholders are wary of waiting for better opportunities to bid.
Remaining only 4% of the area of more than 5.7 million hectares of soybeans to be harvested in the State, it should rapidly advance to the end, with producers and their machines taking advantage of the dry climate conditions that have been occurring in these last periods. Most of the crops harvested were with dry soil and grain moisture below 13%. Basically no drying is required at the receiving locations. The overall quality of the grains is very good and the productivity is at three tons per hectare in the state average. The product harvested presented low impurity, but with some grain breakage.
