Deadline for joining the CAR is extended until December 31

The deadline for joining the Rural Environmental Registry, which would end on May 31, was extended until December 31 of this year. The measure was published by the edition of the Official Gazette (DOU), last Wednesday (30).

The measure meets a Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock of Brazil (CNA). The entity defended the extension of the deadline for several reasons, among them the difficulty of many small farmers and ranchers, especially in regions where real estate was not registered, that would be prevented from operating rural credit and market their products.

The entity also guides all those who do not have the financial conditions to complete the registration, who seek support from the environmental agency of their state to receive the technical assistance necessary to register their property in the CAR.

The CAR is provided for in the Forest Code (Law 12.651 / 2012) and is mandatory for all rural properties, including those that do not have any irregularities. Producers with liabilities to be regularized must first register their properties in the CAR. In this way, they will be able to join the Environmental Regularization Program (PRA).
