Entities ask FPA to drop vetoes at Funrural

In a meeting held on Tuesday (03), entities of the national production sector asked the Parliamentary Front of Agriculture (FPA) to overrule all vetoes to Law 13.606 / 18, which establishes the program of installments for the debt of the Assistance Fund to the Rural Worker, Funrural. More than 10 institutions attended the meeting.

The FPA president, Ms. Tereza Cristina (DEM-MS), said she was confident of a victory today in overturning the vetoes. According to her, the two houses, Senate and House, are in line and the government also understood the need to give fairer conditions to rural producers. “This strengthens the agricultural sector, the development of the Brazilian economy and the growth of the country”, defended the president.

She also stressed that the FPA will continue working together so that the STF will judge as soon as possible the constitutionality of the social security contribution that still causes legal insecurity to farmers.

For Mr Zé Silva, the main vetoes to be worked are the 100% reduction of interest on debt and that the same rate provided for in the law for the rural producer is guaranteed to the rural legal entity. “The fiscal renunciation of the government will be less than if the renegotiation of debts was made without the program of installments,” the deputy said.

The Brazilian Rural Society (SRB), the Brazilian Association of Cotton Producers (Abrapa), the Brazilian Association of Animal Proteins (ABPA), the Brazilian Association of Meat Exporters (ABIEC) Açúcar (Unica), the Rural Syndicate and the Brazilian Association of Corn Producers (Abramilho) have demonstrated unrestricted support for the work of parliamentarians who will vote on Tuesday (03), in a session of Congress, for overturning vetoes to Funisural Refis.

For the president of SRB, Marcelo Vieira, the advance achieved by the FPA with the bill can not be lost. “The installment program is our only secure solution at the moment. The sector needs legal backing to pay off those debts that became constitutional after the STF changed its decision, “he said.

The president of the Rural Union, Glauber Silveira, reiterated that with the overthrow of vetoes, the FPA guarantees the most just possible debt to the rural producer. For him, the modulation of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) does not exclude the benefits obtained with the payment of the contribution. “They are two different actions. Refis guarantees us an alternative with force of law, “said the president.

For the executive director of Unica, Eduardo Leão, and the institutional president of Abramilho, Sérgio Bortolozzo, the FPA worked intensely from the beginning in defense of the rural producers. “All sectors were heard. The greatest leadership in the Legislature is from the FPA in partnership with the institutions that represent the agricultural sector, “said Bortolozzo.

The representative of Abiec, Wagner José Augusto, reinforced that the Front gave an alternative so that the farmers could pay their taxes of the form less impact possible. “Over the years, we have achieved a uniform organization for the most important issues in the growing development of the industry. Not only in Funrural, but in the milk, coffee, meat, onion chains, among many others, “said the representative.
