The consumption of hydrated ethanol in Brazil reached a record in January / 18, reaching 1.377 billion liters, a significant increase of 55.3% over the volume consumed in the same period last year. On the other hand, consumption of gasoline A (without the mixture of 27% of anhydrous) dropped by 9.0% year-on-year to 2.472 billion liters. The data were DATAGRO Consulting.
Considering the 8.8% increase in NGV sales, the total fuel consumption of the Otto cycle reached 4.562 billion liters in gasoline equivalent, an increase of 0.5% over January 2017 volume.
Consequently, the share of total ethanol consumption (anhydrous + hydrate) in January 2018 was 41.2% in the Otto cycle fuel market, compared to the average of 38.2% in 2017, and 39.4% % in 2016.
