Exports of the sector trees grow 38%

Brazilian exports of the tree sector grew 38.5% in the first four months of the year, reaching R $ 3.5 billion, informs the Brazilian Tree Industry (Ibá). In the balance of trade balance, the sector grew 42.0%, totaling R $ 3.2 billion.

The revenue only for the pulp segment grew 37.9% for exports to China, 55.6% for North America and 63.4% for Europe. This means an increase of 48.7% in the accumulated values ​​of the product negotiation with the foreign market, in comparison of the sum of the period between January and April this year compared to 2017.

For the paper segment, Latin America increased the consumption of this input by 14.7% in comparison with the previous year, being the destination with the highest monetary volume of transactions, reaching US $ 438 million. The commercialization for the external market of wood panels, in turn, showed a 15.1% increase in all destinations in value.
