Extended deadline for joining Funrural Refis

The federal government published in the Official Gazette of the last Monday (30) the Provisional Measure (MP) 828/18, which extends to May 30 the deadline for the adhesion of rural producers to the Rural Tax Regularization Program (PRR), known as Refis do Funrural. Previously, the deadline was April 30.

Agência Câmara de Notícias reported that the extension of the date had been claimed by the rural sector, which claims that the Federal Revenue Office is not prepared to meet the adhesion requirements presented by producers from all over the country.

In addition, the Parliamentary Front of Agropecuaria wants to await the judgment, by the Federal Supreme Court (STF), of the declaratory embargoes on the decision of the court that considered the collection of Funrural constitutional. The embargoes seek to clarify points of the decision of the Supreme Court.

The trial is scheduled for May 17. The front, which is chaired by Congresswoman Tereza Cristina (DEM-MS), was negotiating the new date of joining the PRR with the federal government.

The program allows for the payment of debts of rural producers (individuals, cooperatives and intermediaries) at a discount and reduces the social contribution on the gross revenue owed by the sector as a social security contribution of rural workers (popularly called Funrural).

The installment of debts covers debts related to this contribution before the Federal Revenue and the Attorney General of the National Treasury due up to August 30, 2017.
