The port of Paranaguá increased by 45% the volume of grain shipped through the export corridor between 2010 and 2017. In 2010, 12 million tons of products were shipped. Last year, the movement reached the record mark of 17, 4 million tons – greater volume already exported in the entire history of the terminal.
This advance was the subject of the meeting, held on Wednesday (28), by Governor Beto Richa with leaders of 12 companies operating in Paranaguá. Entrepreneurs attributed the advances to investment and dialogue between the port authority and the productive sector.
“We chose this path of dialogue and understanding to govern. The port has evolved and been transformed systematically throughout these seven years of our administration. Today is the biggest port of Brazilian agribusiness, which is proud of us, “said the governor. “Modernization, dredging, end of line and proper planning have resulted in productivity gains,” said Richa.
He underscored the historical public investments, which total R $ 657 million until 2017, with a forecast of reaching R $ 725 million by 2020. The amount guaranteed records of movement and results for the entire productive sector.
The Paranaguá port export corridor is formed by a conglomerate of horizontal and vertical silos, conveyor belts and ship loaders, with shipment capacity of 9 thousand tons / hour.
The APPA granular complex consists of two silos with a total capacity of 160 thousand tons and connected to ten other private terminals. These are responsible for 80% of the total volume exported by the port. The terminals have capacity to receive loads of 11.2 thousand tons / hour, and silage capacity that exceeds 1.2 million tons.
