More than 93% of the Agricultural Census data have already been collected

The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) has already completed 93.6% of the data collection of the 11th Brazilian Agricultural Census, informs the “Agência Brasil”. Information has already been collected from 4.9 million establishments, out of the 5.2 million initially estimated by IBGE. According to the president of the institute, Roberto Olinto, with this level of data collection the goal of the research has already been reached. Therefore, the release of the census data is maintained for the month of July this year.

According to Olinto, the collection still remains in some regions of difficult access and in those where the rains have impaired the task of the enumerators. Despite this, the technicians are already working on the data collected. If information is inconsistent, some locations may be revisited.

The first results of the Agricultural Census will show the profile of the rural producer by sex, age, color or race, literacy and schooling, land use, livestock, animal and vegetable production, land acquisition, agricultural practices in the establishment, among others. The last census was conducted in 2006.
