MS may run agricultural production through Paraguay

Agricultural production in Mato Grosso do Sul may gain a new outflow route. In the last week it was inaugurated or port of Concepción, in Paraguay. For the president of the Association of State Soybean Producers (Aprosoja-MS), the port will bring benefits to the productive sector.

“The producers of municipalities that are within a radius of 200 kilometers of Ponta Porã have in Concepción another alternative of logistics for the production of the state. However, we do not know how the customs side of the border will flow. These barriers do not exist in the Murtinho terminal, which also meets the producers within a radius of 200 kilometers this port. In that region, producers are benefited by the existence of this alternative, where they already operate at full capacity, “he said in a statement.

According to Granos Corretora, the Porto Murtinho terminal is already capable of boarding power plug until May 15, with a volume of of 155 thousand tons of soy. “This points to the strength of this alternative and also shows the need for private sector investments in the modernization of the port from Murtinho so it can operate larger volumes. In Concepción, the biggest challenge is to consolidate this option as a viable route, accustoming buyers and producers from the southwest of Mato Grosso do Sul to the procedures of this port, “concludes Schmaedecke.
