The price index received by the rural producers of São Paulo (IqPR) increased 0.5% in March 2018, compared to the previous month. Separated by groups, the IqPR-V (products of plant origin) increased by 0.69% and the IqPR-A (animal products) remained almost the same level with a small increase of 0.06%, according to the Institute of Agricultural Economics (IEA). The products that presented the highest increases were: banana nanica (35.7%), table orange (22.28%), corn (17.45%), eggs (14.8%) and potatoes ).
On the other hand, the largest falls were observed in the prices of pork (-7.18%), rice (-5.99%), peanuts (-5.5%), chicken meat (-4.45%) and sugarcane sugar (-2.84%). In the last 12 months, there were positive variations: corn (21.95%), table orange (12.24%), potato (8.39%), wheat (7.96%), cotton and beef (0.33%).
The other products that lost value in their quotations are: orange for industry (-36.26%), table orange (-35.74%), beans (-34.08%), pork (-28.22% ), rice (21.45%), sugarcane (-16.13%), peanuts (-14.82%), coffee (-12.91%), chicken meat (-12.33% ), chilled raw milk (-11.51%), eggs (-8.01%), banana nanica (-6.20%) and table tomatoes (-5.36%), said Eder Pinatti, Danton Leonel de Camargo Bini, Rejane Cecilia Ramos and Katia Nachiluk, IEA researchers responsible for the article.
