The National Biofuels Policy (RenovaBio) is a market instrument focused on energy and environmental efficiency, stated the president of Santander in Brazil, Sérgio Rial, during the Sugarcane, Sugar and Ethanol 2018/19 Santander and DATAGRO Consultoria this Wednesday (14), in Ribeirão Preto (SP).
In the event, the President of the Republic Michel Temer signed the decree regulating the RenovaBio.
“This is not a subsidy,” said Rial, noting that RenovaBio will create a financial instrument that will reward the producer and the biofuels chain, referring to decarbonisation credits (CBIOs), which will be marketed by the private sector.
