The harvest of the 2017/18 rice crop in Rio Grande do Sul is nearing its end. Until now, 1,034,486 hectares were harvested, representing 96.6% of the total sown by state producers. The information is from the Rio Grande do Sul Institute of Rice (Irga).
So far, the The average productivity of the crops is 7,936 kilos per hectare. The region of the outer coastal plain is the most advanced, with 99.3% of area harvested. The performance of crops in the region reaches 6,819 kg / ha.
Still according to the Irga, some cities have finalized the cereal harvest. Are they: Capão do Leão, Charqueadas, Osório, Palmares do Sul, Pelotas, Rio Grande, Santo Antônio da Patrulha, São Borja and Torres.
