The dairy sector should have a positive supply scenario in 2018, agronomist Marcelo Carvalho of Agripoint said during the 14th Dairy State Forum held on Wednesday (07) at Expodireto Cotrijal, in the city of No Me (RS). “It tends to be a more stable year,” he said.
According to Carvalho, demand will be a very important aspect in relation to what will happen in 2018. “We see a recovery curve much more intense than 2017, with prices on average, around 4% higher”, predicts the agronomist, remembering that the scenario of optimism is linked to an expectation of recovery of consumption and also of lower import volume in the first half.
“Efficiency is the foundation of everything. We need to take control of the third house after the comma to measure results. Working with indicators is fundamental to seek the viability of our business, “said the president of Sindilat, Alexandre Guerra, present at the conference.
Sindilat’s Executive Secretary Darlan Palharini expressed concern about the impact of severe winter weather in the European Union and the US, and questioned the extent to which the climate could influence the Brazilian market, especially in terms of rising costs. According to Carvalho, the impact must be small. However, the expert pointed out that the cold can affect prices outside, a factor that may cause some interference here.
