The Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock of Brazil (CNA) presented the results of the project to monitor the quality of fertilizers delivered to farmers. Of the 83 samples collected in Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Goiás and Bahia, 97.6% were in agreement with the technical specifications. The project, in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MPLS), was released by the National Commission of Cereals, Fibers and Oleaginous CNA.
“The initiative came from a demand from farmers in different states who were unsure about the quality of fertilizers. With their support, we carried out the work and were very pleased with the results of the analyzes, “said Commission President Luis Alberto Moraes Novaes. According to him, the assumptions for collection is that the products had invoices and were stored in closed and ventilated places, and sealed bags within the validity.
“The intention is to extend this work to new states and cultures. It is another tool that the CNA is making available to bring security to the rural producer, who will have its input analyzed by laboratories accredited by the ministry, “said Alan Malinski, technical advisor to the Commission.
