Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said on Monday that unilateralism and US trade protectionism were not only detrimental to Chinese interests but to all countries. The information from the agency “Xinhua” was disclosed by “Agência Brasil”.
Hua made the remarks after Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop said Australia is concerned about recent US measures to unilaterally raise tariffs and quotas against some of its trading partners.
“This is in line with the international community’s view. China is willing to work to jointly combat unilateralism and protectionism and defend the multilateral trading system for an open world economy,” Hua said.
