USDA report should indicate drop in US grain stocks

DATAGRO’s grain analyst, Flavio Roberto de França Júnior, points out that, according to the average taken by international agencies, the general expectation of the market predicts that the report of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) (10) brings a reduction in final US soybean stocks from the 2017/18 harvest to 14.70 million tons.

Still in relation to soybeans, according to France Júnior, the USDA document should also reveal smaller world stocks, increase in the Brazilian crop and decrease of production in Argentina.

For maize, the report is expected to bring down 2017/18 final stocks in the US to 55.30 million tonnes. In addition, even with regard to maize, the USDA document should also point to smaller global inventories and a drop in Brazilian and Argentine harvests.
